Sometimes you just want a simple journal.
This 6” x 8” book is made from canvas boards, left unpainted
or decorated, with sewn-over-tapes binding and leather straps for tapes. The
paper is 120 lb. Stonehenge paper. It’s luscious and thick like watercolor
paper.
Originally, I used it to follow exercises in a published
book about collage. Like many projects I started this year, my enthusiasm
lagged after a short spell. I hadn’t even gotten to the cool photo transfer section.
Oh, well. I realize I can always return to that or I can erase my first few
entries with some white gesso.
